Description
Students in Fort Worth, Texas public schools are no longer dragging their feet when it comes to dancing in physical education classes. William James Junior High School group is doing "Ten Pretty Girls". They are posed in the last step of the dance, standing on one leg with the other leg lifted in the back while the torso comes forward. They form a line with arms linked at the waist. They are left to right, Betty Mason, Emil Austin, Beverly Brown, Tip Bender, Pauline Redden, Jack Lee, Paulagene Hart, Jack McGraw, Mary Alice Rea, Sammy Paris, Ivanelle Sargent and Thomas Chambers. Under Mrs. Evelyn Reeves' instruction they got the dance down so they could do it at their annual class party. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 4, 1940.
