Description
American Airlines retires its flagship airplane. At the ceremony are from under the nose of retired DC-3 (from left) are Captain Art Fox, 1st Officer Pat Preston and Stewardess Margaret Van Bibber, M. D. Miller, Amon Carter and William Holden. Under the nose of the new Convair ship are Captain Frank Haynes, William Borgers, Stewardess Dena Chapple and 1st officer Ed Schwarting. The plane crew and the other men are standing in a semi circle outdoors . The plane crew are dressed in their uniforms while the other men are wearing suits and ties with hats.
