Description

Lowering the flag on the flagship DC3 is Amon Carter along with (from left) Captain Art Fox, pilot; Stewardess M. Van Bigger, M. D. Miller, vice president of American; Carter and William Holden. They are standing under the nose of the airplane as the plane is taken out of service. The officers are in their service uniforms and the other men are wearing suits and ties. Mr. Holden is wearing an overcoat and a hat. He is holding an unidentified item. Margaret Van Bibber is wearing a suit jacket with skirt and a hat.
