Description

Douglas Higgins, right of Texas Wesleyan College misses a whirl shot attempt during first half of exciting National Association of Intercollegiate Basketball final at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. Tech players Eugene Gibson (61) and Don Grove (57) go for rebound. Raiders in background are Jay Kerr, left and James Hill (50). They both have their hands raised up, waiting to catch the ball as it comes down. There are other unidentified players on the court and all players are wearing their school's jersey, sock with sneakers and some players have knee pads. In the background is the audience watching and the basketball net to the left of the picture hanging from the backboard. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 7, 1948.
