Description

Abilene Christian College vs. Texas Wesleyan College (TWC) basketball game with Gangling Guinn Phillips and Bill Teel. In the picture, Phillips of TWC has the ball in his hands and his legs in the air with his eyes staring at the net in an attempt to score some points. Teel has his two hands and his left leg raised to the sides trying to block Phillips shot. Other players on the court include Guerdon Busby (13), Sam Stovall (19) and an unidentified player (3). All players are wearing their respective school jersey, sneakers and socks, and some have knee pads. The TWC Rams won, 61-43. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 14, 1948.
