Mrs. Richard J. Turrentine, Denton, Texas, appointed by Governor Jester to the state's three-member Board of Public Welfare for a six-year term. She is shown here in a quiet home scene with her husband, a retired Texas State College for Women (TSCW) professor. In the picture, Professor Turrentine sits on the front porch and holding a dog while Mrs. Turrentine stands beside him patting the dog on the head. Mrs. Turrentine is wearing a dress below her knee with flowers on the left side while Mr. Turrentine is wearing a suit and tie and a hat. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 26, 1947.
