Description

The Fort Worth Cancer Society's Charity Bowl grid classic is being held at Farrington Field on New Years Eve. The high school teams competing in the Bowl are the Istrouma Indians, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and St. James (dark jerseys) of Port Arthur, Texas. In the first quarter of the game, St. James' fullback Vincent Salvagio is shown running the ball. Making the tackle is Istrouma's J. B. Ouber after evading the block of Harvey Merill. Trailing the play is Pat Windham (44). Kirk Courtney (39) is warding off St. James' Richard Gardemal. Football fans are show sitting in the stands, braving the cold weather and heavy snow fall.
