The Odessa Bronchos are preparing for the 1946 Texas High School Football State Championship. They will square off against the Jefferson Mustangs (San Antonio, Texas) on December 28, 1946 in Austin, Texas. One of the bench players for the Bronchos is Paul Matejowski (32). He is the first substitute for quarterback Hayden Fry. Matejowski, a good passer, is shown throwing the ball downfield in practice. He is dressed in a football uniform. The Odessa Bronchos went on to beat the Mustangs, winning the 1946 State Championship 21-14.
