Description
The 8th Air Force is headquartered at the Fort Worth Army Air Field (F. W. A. A. F.). Pictured in a briefing session, left to right, are Colonel James C. Selser and Colonel J. D. Ryan. Colonel Selser, commanding officer of the 43rd Group, is demonstrating the route traveled by B-29 airplanes from Fort Worth, Texas to Europe. The planes rendezvoused with fighter planes over the American occupation zone in Germany. Colonel Ryan is the plans officer of the reactivated 8th Air Force. Both men are dressed in their military uniforms. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition December 10, 1946.
