Description
Strickland Transportation Company truck driver, G. E. Burton, escaped with minor injury as the trailer truck overturned at the 1600 block Hemphill, while avoiding a collision with another automobile. The overturned truck blocked the 56-foot street, causing detours that lasted for more than two hours. The photograph shows the truck in the center of a tri-section. Sixteen people stand on the nearest corner with their backs to the camera, looking at the truck. Several people on the far side look on as well. The cars are back-up on the street leading to the accident. Four wreckers were used to move the 22,000-pound vehicle. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 17, 1946.
