The semiannual session of the Texas Newspaper Advertising Managers Association at Hotel Texas will hear Mrs. Irene Reid, advertising director of the Monroe, Louisiana News Star and Morning World, review the National Advertising Executives Association meeting held in New York. Mrs. Reid, who has completed 28 years of continuous service on the News Star and 17 years on the Morning World, heads the only all-woman advertising staff in the country. She started in the newspaper business as a printer's devil, then ran a job press and Linotype machine before entering the advertising department. Half-length portrait, she is sitting with her hands folded in her lap. She wears a hat, earrings, and two pinned jewelry on her dress. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, July 7, 1946.
