Description
Horace H. Shelton of Austin, Texas presided over the three day annual encampment of the Texas Division of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and auxiliaries. The organization had 300,000 members prior to World War II. That number has grown to 1,750,000 and Texas has nearly tripled its membership in the last year. Mr. Shelton is dressed in a uniform and hat. His hat has the word "Texas" stitched along the side.
