Description
Gilbert L. Davis, 1033 Bessie, points to the escape route of Curtis Sturdivant, who was burned critically early Sunday when fire started in his home at 1414 Bessie Street, Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. Sturdivant, and her mother Mrs. Jessie Daugherty, lost their lives in the blaze. Davis attempted to save the women, but was forced from the residence by flames. In the image, Davis is standing at the base of the wooden stairs. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 27, 1946.
