Description
James M. Wylie of Cleburne, Texas, headed the "back-to-work" movement among striking engineers on Saturday. Here, he pulls open the throttle to start the Santa Fe Antelope on its journey to Kansas City. The train departed at 6.45 p. m., almost two hours before the next passenger coaches left the city. Wylie is wearing his uniform and is sitting in the engine room. In front of him is the machinery. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, May 26, 1946.
