Description
Out of uniform and into the race for Congress, Goldman Drury sought election Wednesday with a pledge to represent the people with 'good old common horse sense and honest loyalty.' The former Army Chaplain in the 36th Division and Baptist pastor of South Fort Worth Baptist Church, promised his program would be one of the upholding the ideals for which American manhood 'served and sacrificed on the home front and fought and died on the battlefront.' Drury has been a school teacher, oil company book keeper, salesman, secretary-manager of a Chamber of Commerce (at Jasper), secretary of the Fort Worth YMCA. His is past commander of Bothwell Kane American Legion Post, a Kiwanian, a Mason, a Shriner and a Knight of Pythias. In the image, Drury is wearing his military uniform and sitting.
