Description
J. G. Brannon, division superintendent of Texas & Pacific Railway is pictured here. He was on a train en route to Fort Worth when President Truman ordered the office of Defense Transportation to take over the roads. Mr. Brannon came to his office to find the first-hand reports of government seizure awaiting him. He is shown seated at his office desk and reading the report. He is wearing eyeglasses and dressed in full sleeved shirt and tie. There is a variety of office stationery on the table such as papers, paperweights. Behind him is a table with picture frames, a candlestick telephone. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 17, 1946.
