Description
Service Men's Center, Fort Worth, Texas is closing. Checking out for the last time Corporal (Corp.) Dickie McCarthy, Chicago, left, received a dufflebag from Mrs. A Renerick Clark. Private (Pvt.) Al Schert, right, Chicago, prepares to leave with bag and coat prior to final closing of center. Both men are in their respective military uniforms and standing in front of a counter. Mrs. Clark is standing behind the counter and is holding a garment with a tag. She is a voluntary worker at this center and worked every Tuesday afternoon since opening on May 1, 1941. There is a chandelier on the top hanging from the ceiling. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, May 15, 1946.
