Description
Little six-year-old Jerry McDowell of 1000 Galveston, felt like a real P-80 pilot when Colonel (Col.) Bruce K. Holloway, commanding officer of the jet-propelled mass flight that arrived at Fort Worth Army Air Field, lifted the boy into the cockpit of his Shooting Star and put his flight helmet on Jerry's head. Both are in the cockpit posing for the camera. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, May 16, 1946.
