Eight J. P. Elder Junior High School students are recipients of awards for outstanding citizenship and high scholastic achievements. Three of them are pictured here. They are, from left to right, Odell Hargrove, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Hargrove, 1817 Montrose, River Oaks, Texas; Mildred Paschall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Paschall, 2109 Lincoln, Fort Worth, Texas, and Haltom Wray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mabrey H. Wray, Lake Worth, Texas. Two boys and the girl are shown standing against a wall and smiling for the camera. Odell is wearing a button up coat and trousers. Mildred is wearing a skirt and a blouse. She has jewelry on her hands. They both are recipients of the J. P. Elder Service award. Haltom is wearing a shirt and trousers. He is the recipient of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) award. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 22, 1946.
