    Description

    Image shows elephant at Forest Park Zoo, "Sugar," raised her snout to trumpet a swan song a few minutes before her execution. She was sentenced to die after a savage attack on her zookeeper. A crowd of people are surrounding the elephant house after Sugar's execution. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition July 13, 1940.
