A high school track meet is being held in Dallas, Texas. Competing in the 440-yard regional preliminaries, left to right, are John Archer (Prairie Hill), Harrell Browning (Midway), Charles McCallen (Mesquite), Glenn (Pleasant Grove), and Horace Maddux (Paschal). At the extreme front is Ed Parks (Dallas). Maddux is shown stepping out of the first turn, trailing Parks.
