    Description

Ill fares the land when unchecked erosion eats deep gullies into the uplands and washes down sediment to smother agriculture in the valleys. That is what has happened in Wise and Montague Counties, and parts of Jack, Parker, and Tarrant Counties, drainage areas of the upper Trinity River. A widening and deeping gully near New Harp, in southeastern Montague County, one of the thousands in the area. An unidentified man is looking at the gully.
