McDonald (left), head of the veterans' loan department, Fort Worth National Bank, presents a $100 check to Kenneth Irving Matatall, first Technical High School student to receive a loan from the $10,000 fund set up to help veterans when their subsistence check are late in arriving. Watching are John W. Wallace, second from left, commander of Blackstone Post, American Legion, which sponsored the fund, and G. B. Trimble, principal of Tech High School, who originated the plan.
