Description
After four years in the Navy, Lieutenant Scrantron B. Jones has begun his terminal leave and is visiting his mother, Mrs. Harper Jones, before resuming his law studies at the University of Texas. Jones is a graduate of Paschal High School and had completed three years at the university before enlisting. Most of his naval career was spent on sea duty, first in the European Theater of Operations and later in the Pacific. He served as an executive officer aboard a Landing Ship Tank during the invasion of North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Normandy. In the Pacific he was aboard a small transport ship that supplied the occupation troops in Japan. He is sitting down in front of a bare wall, wearing his military uniform.
