Mrs. Dollile Davis Smith, of Celburne, Texas, left, past poet laureate of Texas, was a guest at the annual poetry contest of the Business and Professional Women's Club in Hotel Texas. Left to right are Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Lillian Leatherwood, winner of first place in serious verse, and Miss Averill Gouldy, winner of narrative and light verse. The three women are sitting at a table, all wearing dresses. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Leatherwood are wearing hats. Mrs. Leatherwood is wearing a fur coat.
