Description

G. N. Fisher, new principal of Polytechnic Elementary School, and Miss Charlotte Grove, who took over his duties as principal at G. E. Tandy Elementary School. Mr. Fisher standing next to Miss Grove at the program held in honor of Mr. Fisher's time served as principal. There are children sitting in the background. Pupils and teachers at Tandy Elementary School Friday morning called G. N. Fisher from his duties as principal at Polytechnic Elementary School to present a Masonic ring and an engraved billfold to him in appreciation of his many years of service to their school. The presentations were made during a program held in his honor in the school auditorium. Fisher, who had served as principal at Tandy for 23 1/2 years, was assigned as fulltime principal at the Polytechnic school. For the past nine years he has been principal for both schools, until increased enrollment this year made it necessary to have fulltime principals at each school. His duties at Tandy have been taken over by Miss Charlotte Grove, who has been a teacher at the school for 20 years. Star-Telegram Evening Edition February 8, 1946
