Description
Doctor John L. Gill, chief of outpatient service, declared that every veteran whose case demanded emergency treatment was getting hospitalization either at a Veterans Administration Hospital or in an Army or Navy medical center where beds are reserved on a contract basis. There are 558 cases now on Dr. Gill's waiting list, and as the services continue to pour men through separation centers, the problem of their postwar care is becoming more acute. This is due, Dr. Gill explained, to two reasons - the lack of beds and shortage of trained physicians. Dr. Gill is seated. He is wearing a suit and has a cigarette in his left hand.
