Description
Associate Justice Graham B. Smedley of the Texas State Supreme Court spoke at the meeting of the Fort Worth Bar Association in 96th District Court. Justice Smedley is the only high court justice from Tarrant County ever to serve on that bench. He was appointed in 1933 to the Commission of Appeals, a six-member body which reviewed Supreme Court cases and recommended decision. He practiced here from 1929 to 1933. Prior to 1929, he practiced in Withchita Falls. Justice Smedley is sitting at one end of a couch. He is wearing a double-breasted suit and bow tie. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 4, 1946.
