Gold Star Mothers Club held their first meeting of 1946 at Hotel Texas, Fort Worth, Texas. Symbolizing the common bond between Gold Star Mothers of World War 1 and those of World War II, Mrs. Lucile Warren, left, presented their large silken American flag to Mrs. W. C. O'Briant (right) for the women who lost sons in World War II. Both women are holding the flag. They are wearing formal dresses and hats. Mrs. Warren is the treasurer of the Gold Star Mothers of World War 1. Mrs. O'Briant is president of the newly organized Tarrant County Gold Star Mothers Club. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 29, 1946.
