Description
Fort Worth Public Library is setting back gradually to a peacetime routine and making plans for its own "post-war world." During the war years and even since its opening in 1940 the room on the Library's second floor has been a haven for music lovers. One of the most faithful patrons 12-year old Joe Bratcher Junior (Jr.), son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bratcher is pictured here. He is a seventh grade student at McLean Junior High School and piano and flute pupil of Miss Charlotte Stevenson. He follows the score of the Rachmaninoff piano solo he is playing on the the machine in the Fort Worth Public Library record room. He has spent many of his Saturdays and after-school hours listening to the music of his favorite composers. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 4, 1946.
