Description
Work by Jerry Bywaters, possibly a lithograph titled "Old Buildings - Leadville, Colorado." The work is mis-titled as "Old Houses - Leadville, Colorado" in the Star-Telegram article. The work was on display in an exhibition of Dallas artists at the Fort Worth Public Library. Mr. Bywaters was a prominent member of the "Dallas Nine" group of painters and was also director of the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. The work depicts a row of abandoned buildings, including two saloons and a hotel located on a steep and winding street. A church with a high steeple sits just to the left and back of the buildings.
