Description

Mrs. Helene Lavergne, French aviatrix, is in Fort Worth, Texas to complete the purchase of a airplane from Globe Aviation Corporation. She holds the distinction of being the only woman to be awarded an acrobatic pilot's license by a military jury in France. When the Germans occupied South France, she hid four young Frenchmen in her home who would have otherwise been arrested. Mrs. Lavergne was originally born in the United States. Her father was a French Consul General. After twenty years, she returned to France with her family and she married a French writer, Edourard Lavergne. Mrs. Lavergne is shown wearing a skirt, blazer, fur coat and a hat. She is sitting in an armchair.
