Description
One victim at Decatur badly hurt. J. E. Whitaker, age thirty-four from Wichita Falls, Texas was injured in freak railroad accident. He is a brakeman for Fort Worth and Denver City Railway. His train was traveling along the tracks when it crossed paths with a tornado. The twister tore two cabooses and a baggage car from the tracks. Seven people were injured, one farmhouse was destroyed, another unroofed, and three railway cars were overturned. Mr. Whitaker suffered head and internal injuries but was resting comfortably at Rogers Hospital. He is shown in a hospital bed with his head bandaged.
