Description
Lieutenant (Lt.) Elbert W. Lavender, is returning home to his wife and daughters, Cynthia and Margaret Ann, after twenty months overseas. He served as a mess officer with the 4th Marine Air Wing. Lieutenant (Lt.) Lavender graduated from Texas Christian University (TCU) in 1931 and attended Marine Officers School Quantico, Virginia. He plans to open a cafeteria around April 1, called Luby's Cafeteria. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front and smiling for the camera. He is wearing a suit with a striped necktie. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 2, 1946.
