Description

Lelan Lucas, a magician, returned to Fort Worth, Texas with the Star of Stalingrad the Russians gave him for his magic act he performed at a dinner for top Russian officers who led th liberation march on Stalingrad. Lucas started learning magic as a hobby with the Fort Worth Magic Club, but he now plans to turn professional at the beginning of year when he opens at the Clover Grill. He will also tour a circuit planned by the Music Corporation of America. He was discharged after serving six months with the 139th Evacuation Hospital. While in Fort Worth he will give free performances to any group of orphans. He put on free show for the children at the Lena Pope Home like the one he put on for the Russians. Mr. Lucas is wearing a double breasted pinstripe suit. He is holding a magic box with a white rabbit in it. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 29, 1945.
