Mr. Pierce is wearing a sport coat, necktie, and trousers. He is standing with one hand in the pocket of his trousers. Wherever they were, Monday, veterans of the 4th Armored Division's campaign across Europe constituted themselves as guard of honor as their commander, Lieutenant General George S. Patton was laid to rest in Luxembourg. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 24, 1945.
