Description
Sergeant (Sgt.) John W. Twilleager, in Fort Worth, hitchhiking home to Los Angeles, California from Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He reached the halfway point and is optimistic that he will be home for Christmas. He is standing on the side of the road with his thumb in the air. The U. S. Post Office on 251 W. Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, is visible in the background. His luggage is sitting by his feet with a jacket draped across. Mr. Twilleager is dressed in his military uniform. There are railroads and car, also parked automobiles along the street. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 24, 1945.
