    Image shows The Polytechnic High School basketball team faced off against their district rivals, Riverside High School. The Poly Parrots started off slow, missing their first twenty-three shots. Image show six unidentified basketball players. The half ended at a 5-5 tie. The Parrots came out of the locker room, angry with their first half misses, and managed to win the game 20-16. West, score 11 of his team's 20 points. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition January 8, 1940.
