Cadet sponsors for the junior and senior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (R. O. T. C.) units at Amon Carter Riverside High School were given honorary commissions as majors this week by Captain William Head, commandant of the school. Girls from the senior companies are Betty Fisher, left, and Helen Jean Schieman, center. Faculty sponsor for both classes is Miss Glonda Claiborne, right, who was given the rank of lieutenant colonel. All three girls are standing against a wall, wearing their uniforms.
