    Description

    John H. Cowles, left, sovereign grand commander of the Scottish Rite crowned W. Steve Cooke the titular head of the Scottish Rite in Texas. The photograph was taken at the Masonic Temple preceding the secret ritualistic ceremony. Mr. Cowles is wearing vest, necktie, coat, and trousers. Mr. Cooke is wearing a light-color, double breasted suit, dark glasses with a cigar in hand. He is resting his hand on a small pillar. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 4, 1945.
