Private Raymond D. Reed is a member of the 131st Field Artillery's Lost Battalion. He spent three-and-a-half years in a Japanese prison camp. He is spending a 90-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Reed. Private Reed is a member of the 2nd Battalion medical detachment. He was captured at Java on March 8, 1942. He wears the American Defense Ribbon with one battle star for Pearl Harbor.
