Portrait of Mrs. Della Baites Hamill, 64, who died June 21, 1940. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. G. Shaw. Funeral services will be held at Harveson and Cole Funeral Home. Reverend W. Douglas Hudgins will officiate, and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Hamill was born in Groesbeck, Texas, and had lived in Fort Worth, Texas, since she and her husband, J. G. Hamill, moved there in 1902. Shortly after, he, as a drilling contractor, brought in the first well in the Spindletop oil field at Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Hamill spend most of her childhood in Tehuacana, Texas. She attended Trinity University. Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Hamill is survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Leila Bratton of Houston, Texas.
