Donald is shown standing in front of the two small girls with his arm extended to prevent them from walking. He is wearing a long-sleeve, flannel shirt with a pair of striped trousers. He is also wearing a badge on a sash that goes across his chest. The girls are wearing dresses and holding items for school. Donald is one of about 1,000 boys chosen. because of dependability, scholastic standing and citizenship rating, to be patrolmen and to help teach other children about "safety first". He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McIntosh. Shirley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Gordon and Sandra is the daughter of Sergeant and Mrs. Bruce Walker.
