Description
Mrs. Tony Tolman, after six years away from Texas and three years in Santo Tomas prison camp in Manila, Philippines, receives a cup of coffee from Miss Pit Steele, Red Cross Motor Corps driver. Miss Steele drove Mrs. Tolman, suffering from tuberculosis induced by malnutrition, on the last leg of her journey home to Hico, Texas. Mrs. Tolman is in a bed, covered with a blanket. Miss Steele is sitting beside her, wearing a dress.
