Description
Four veterans of the Pacific are celebrating the victory over Japan after the emperor's surrender on August 15, 1945. The veterans, left to right, are Warren H. Williams, Ray C. Veal, Bill Brigman, and Edward T. Gilmore. They met on the West Coast, where they were stationed in the same outfit. Williams formerly held the rank of pharmacist's mate first class, but has been a civilian since February. Veal held the ranking of aviation ordnance man, second class, when he was discharged in July. Brigman, aviation machinist's mate second class, and Gilmore, chief aviation machinist's mate, recently returned from the island of Tinian. They are spending their 30-day leave in Fort Worth, Texas. The men are dressed in their military uniforms.
