The four men are making calls in different phone booths and awaiting to hear back from various relatives. Weil, Dalby, and Lostunslo are dressed in military uniform while Lockwood is wearing a sailor's uniform. Weil was calling friends in Fort Worth, Texas, Dalby is calling his parents in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lostunslo is calling his parents in Lawrence, Massachusetts and Lockwood is waiting to hear the voices of his parents in Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
