Description
Two trucks from the American Cooperage Company that were pledged by Mrs. Thomas A. Dodson, operating the concern in the absence of her husband, Captain Dodson, a war prisoner of the Japanese, started the movement for 100 additional trucks needed for collection in the citywide cleanup campaign. Shown with the trucks, left to rights, are Amos M. Holmes, who will drive the larger truck; Mrs. Holmes, assistant in the office and Mrs. Dodson. They are standing on the truck floor boards. The trucks have wooden slat walls on the open beds. The collections will be made on August 12 and 19. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 4, 1945.
