Description
Carl Garner, veteran of 34 months overseas duty with the Army Air Forces (AAF) in the European theater, has returned to his home in Fort Worth after receiving an honorable discharge from the armed forces with 141 service points and 10 campaign stars to his credit. Garner was reunited with his wife, the former Miss Sue Jane Maloney, and 3-year-old daughter, Diane. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing to the camera. He is wearing suit and tie and holding a hat. During his tour of duty overseas, he served as radio operator and clerk with the 301st Bomb Group headquarters of the 15th Air Force in Italy. He wears stars on his European Theater of Operations (ETO) ribbon. A student of music before he entered service, Garner plans to enter Texas Christian University (TCU) soon to continue his studies toward a master's degree. His father , G. J. Garner, retired Army colonel, lives in San Antonio. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 5, 1945.
