Description
The Purple Heart, awarded posthumously to Marine Private First Class Fred J. Laughlin, of Goldthwaite, Texas, has been sent to his mother, Mrs. Frances J. Laughlin. Going into action with the 5th Marine Division on February 17, he was killed on February 22, 1945. He is pictured in his military portrait photograph, wearing his uniform.
