Description
After 14 months' fleet duty, Billy Bob Allen (right), seaman first class, has returned to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Allen, on his first leave since he enlisted. Allen, 19, served as quartermaster on a fleet oiler in campaigns from Saipan through Okinawa. At the end of his 21-day leave he will return to his ship on the West Coast. Spending a 15-day furlough in Fort Worth, Texas, at the same time is his uncle, Corporal Charles C. Mills (left), who has been stationed at Langley Field, Virginia, for a year as a radar maintenance man. He is visiting his wife and his six month-old daughter, Susan Kay. The men are standing in front of a wall, wearing their respective military uniforms.
